“HOPE FOR AADITYA” CHARITY DANCE 7.14.08
They danced to save lives. On July 14th at the Italian Club in Livonia, a special group of Asian teenagers got together to raise money for the “Hope for Aaditya” charity. This charity is to raise money to find a cure for a six-year old boy that has been diagnosed with Niemann Pick Type C-1, a rare but fatal disease. This disease is world wide, so the money raised from this charity is not only helping find a cure for Aaditya, but is also helping children with this disease all around the world.
At 7:30 the doors opened and the evening was underway. The dance floor was made up of teen boys, girls, and adults. The music was represented from various parts of India such as Bhangra, Garba music as well as sound tracks from Bollywood movies. Those that attended made up over twenty-two of the twenty-eight states in India. Women adorned with saris contributed to a colorful site on the dance floor. Dandiya sticks were used with the music of Raas that was handed out to all that wanted to dance with them. All and all this was a successful charity event to help save the lives of all children that have been diagnosed with this horrible disease… They all danced to save many lives!
