FLAKY APPLE PIE MADE SIMPLE
Crust
2 C. Flour
¼ tsp. Salt
½ c. Crisco Oil
¼ C. Cold Milk
Sift flour and salt in bowl. Pour oil and milk in center of flour. Mix with pastry blender or fork until crumbly. Remember dough that is handled to much will not be flaky. Pat dough into 1 large ball ( ¾ of dough) and 1 small ball ( ¼ of dough). Roll each ball between waxed paper and flip the larger one into the pie pan. Keep the smaller one covered until the apples have been placed in bottom of pan
Filling
8 Medium McIntosh Apples
½ Stick Butter
¾ C. Sugar
½ tsp. Nutmeg
1 Tbsp. Cinnamon
Peel, core and slice apples and place into bottom crust. Slice butter into 8 pieces and place them around the apples evenly. Sprinkle with sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon. Place top crust over apples . Pinch sides together and make several slits in top of the crust. Sprinkle with granulated sugar. Bake 350~ for 45 minutes
